Street Race in Maryland, go to Jail..............

The Maryland State Police are pushing a statewide bill that would allow for up to 60 days of jail time and a maximum fine of $500 for anyone caught street racing. That fine is the current limit for misdemeanors, but the jail time adds some teeth to it. It's still softer that what we're seeing in many states. There's a hearing on the matter this Friday.

Not to encourage or promote street racing, but what will it be like when some new rookie can't wait to turn on the blue light and sees a couple of rat rods, blipping the throttle as they cruise the streets. I would not want to go to court on the word of a person. I would think for this kind of sentence there would need to be some recorded evidence.
