Very Kool...I like the stretched body. That is what I was going to do til I found one already done. Post up some pics of the body work please[P

I finally got out into the garage and got some work done. The body is still in VERY rough shape, but all in one piece again. Last week I mocked up where the seats and steering wheel will be. Next on the interior list is the pedals and shifter.

Tonight I started mocking up where I'm going to mount the headlghts, grill shell, and gas tank.

Anyway, here's some pics...

I still haven't settled on the M/T covers. The Edlebrock covers I have match the crazy air cleaner I found. And I have never found one like it since. It is an actual Edlebrock piece that a friend of mine had laying around his shop. I usually don't like a lot of "shiny bits" but I may make an exception on these.

Thanks for the comments. I should have some more pics this weekend.

I found a product that I just have to talk about. It's called Percy's Hyperfiber. It's a pre-preg fiberglass woven mat that you can get with, or without wire. The wire, of course, makes it much easier to mold into various shapes.

I needed to make a base to start glassing the transmission tunnel. I thought of various methods, but started poking around the Summit Racing website for fiberglass and found this. It's truly amazing stuff.

What is so amazing about it? It's UV light curable. As long as you don't expose it to sunlight while you are molding it, the work time is almost limitless. You can cure it with a high power UV light or a black light (takes longer) or by placing it in sunlight.

I must say, I am very impressed.

You could use it for all sorts of things.

I like what you are doing with the body. Really interesting. I'll have to check into that Percy's Hyperfiber. I think I have some uses for something like that.

Yeah, it really is making things go a little quicker for me. I just laid another round of fiberglass this morning.

Next I need to shape my firewall template a little more. Then it's off to my wife's work so they transfer it to the plasma cutter.

It's really starting to come together!

stopped at my good friend Ken's house on the way back from the Detroit Autorama this weekend. He hooked me up with some new parts: a windshield and some header mufflers.

Of course, the first chance I got after work today I had to see what I was up against. I still need to make some more brackets to support the windshield, but I think this is going to work. Basically, this is the top of a T windshield. I flipped it upside down. I'm going to make some brackets to fill in the curved edges at the bottom and more securely mount the windshield and fill in the dead space.

I'll figure that one out later.

Small stuff, but more progress....

Dash roughed in, headlight stands bolted in, tail light mounts starting to come together, junk plate held there with welding magnets....
