Tailgate benches

So have you guys seen people make benches from old tailgates? I always talk about wanting to make one. I met a guy who sells them. He sells them for 1100-1400! Could you belive that! Who pays that? My hat comes off to that guy. He found a good way to make money playing with truck parts. Would you pay that much for a bench or coffee table?

Ive paid less for the whole truck .. Ive seen them and it would look like they aint comfy either

I would have more use out of the fold - up shelf made from a tailgate .

Making a fold down seat wouldn't be a bad idea either.

They did look cool and very well built. I always want to do stuff like this but I don't want to get stuck with it..

Yeah, those things are all over the place now. I always thought about using the whole back of the bed and having a fold down thing

I built one a couple of years ago and it sits out in front of my shop. I used the last foot or so of a 1969-7? short narrow bed that my buddy was hauling to the junk yard. the only good part was what I used. Tailgate can fold u, but I leave it down . makes for a nice spot under the shade tree to end the day. I will post a pic tomorrow if I can remember. I do suffer from CRS syndrome sometimes.[cl

I've got a spare tailgate for my 46 that I'll be using for the back of a bench this spring. If I can decide on a design, that is.
