It's a refundable deposit of $100 USD or $150 CAD to reserve one, so yes, they now have 200,000 pre-orders. That's no BS.

That was my thinking too. If they're unbreakable, how do you get in during an accident. My dad was a volunteer firefighter for many years and they had a jaws of life unit. I think it makes me think of those situations (when we were kids we went with him on calls occasionally). I know the firemen often have tools to break in when civilians don't, but you can't always wait that long.
It's the main reason I dislike suicide doors as well.
