TH 350 trouble

I'm having crappy luck with automatic transmissions. The TH350 that I have in my car won't go into low gear. In drive it pulls out in 2nd then goes to drive. It will go into passing gear from drive just fine. If I pull the shifter into 1st, it acts like its binding up. It will move, it just sounds like the brakes are on. It broke free after a few feet the 1st few times. Now it don't act like it will break free and I don't want to force it. Any clues as to what it may be without having to take it apart in a zillion pieces?

O.k. Now its trying to do it in reverse.

If the linkage is working as it should and not binding up, and the trans fluid is at the correct level, you may be having some internal troubles.

Sounds like the low gear sprag is coming apart.
