One of the true American legends.

I grew up jumping my bicycle over all kinds of stuff. I got to sit and talk with him one day, when he was much older. He struck me as bitter, and mean. But still a legend.

Boy, how old is that first pic Sam?
I met him at Bike Week several years ago in Daytona and I agree with you Bonehead, he was not a lot of fun to hang out with. Somewhat of a crank-a-potimus.

crank-a-potimus? I resemble that remark. ;)

Evel Knievel: 433 broken bones... the legend and the defense rest. :D

My Dad took me to see him jump some school buses when I was a kid in Colorado.

I have it on DVD transferred from a home movie camera.

And I fondly remember playing with my Stunt Cycle.

I watched a show about him a little while ago. Pretty much everyone who knew him said he was a jerk.

I watched his son jump a bunch of antique tractors at the Indiana state fair when I was a kid. The little bit that I was around him he seamed to be a cool guy.
