got me thinking of making a slot instead of a hole. the rivet a plate around it kinda aircraft style. [[

Thats a good Idea too thats what we did on another sedan in the shop that just has a regular 2x3 box frame with no holes.. We made a slit and ran the arm through it i will post up some pics of that setup so you can see it.. It works great..

Wrong.. We have full steering the box bottoms out before the arm touches the holes front to back.......its almost perfect... [

Nope we talked about it but we really dont fit in at the street rod nationals in fact im not sure if it would be alowed into the show and if it did where would we park they all hate cars like this

there is a lot of ratrods there.you should take it people would be all all over it. the reason the high dollar street rod guys don't like them is they get more attention than there cars do.

I go to the Nats every year because its so big but i have only seen 3 or 4 rats in a crowd of 1000s of street rods each year.. I am just not in the mood to listen to them about cars like this as much as i really dont care to go see the thousands of cars that all look the same.. DID HE PAINT IT RED BLACK PURPLE OR YELLOW? Oh red did he use TWEED INTERIOR or LEATHER? Tweed oh i see all of them rock the i didit column I mean i have almost every car there mapped out in my head i just have to glance at it and then i already know what the rest of it looks like.. They do not need thousands to attend because if you have seen 7 different ones you have seen basically them all.. Its a bolt together kit car right out of the "I want that item" magazine and they are all so fast because of their fake fiberglass ways and then they want to rag on real steel but mine still has the original FORD stamp on the firewall its no kit car replica.. I just dont care to go to that show at all this year.. Plus if you live close enough to go to it you already know every day for 2 weeks here has broke 100 degrees lol forget all that out there all day

you need to go behind the building in the grass thats where our type gars are.i usually hit the swap meet. look at cars out back then hit the inside.i skip the cookie cutter cars out front i agree about the heat plus fridays the only day they're not calling for rain.

That pretty much sums up how I feel about car shows in general..Mine may be junk, but I'm building it to drive and enjoy..I'm not spend my weekend sitting in a lawnchair listening to people bash it..

That's why I liked the car shows in the UK: far less gold-chainer type rods there. There are always a few big buck cars, but so many more cars are home-spun, built on a budget type cars, with innovative ideas, unusual models etc.
