Just a bit ago I was getting groceries and a couple young men were looking at my car. One seemed rather sensible and quiet. The other one had a mouth full of rotten teeth and wouldn't shut up. How much for the car? Not for sale. How much? I have money. You don't have enough money. Hey I have a brand new pickup, I have money, tell him (to the sensible one) But it doesn't take any money to drive a new pickup, I'm talking cash. How much? More than you have.
We collect old cars, got anything else? Yeah, I sell them all the time. They are everywhere, you just have to look. Where?

Well, you get the drift. I really wanted to tell him if he had money he should spend it at the dentist. I'm too nice.

Haha, yeah, you gotta love people. :D I drove down to Naples today to a little cruise in but didn't stay long. More and more I am just not enjoying car shows or cruise ins. For me the fun is what you did today, drive the car and go run errands and just enjoy the feeling of it.

I stopped at the grocery store to pick up some cat food and as I was driving through the parking lot two ladies flagged me down and asked if they could take a picture of the car........sure. :) Same thing driving along in traffic, the cars riding next to me were taking pictures as we drove along. Not a hobby for the shy, is it ? :D

Yeah, I'd rather be driving my car than setting by it in a lawn chair...any day. I also enjoy the attention but some times hodrods attract the strangest sorts. Same grocery store a few months ago, some older guy corners me because he had a car just like mine. He had to tell me all about it, a story that started with the creation of the earth. Turns out it was a 39 Nash 4 door. Yeah, just like my roadster pickup, haha.

When I used to drive my 27 to work years ago I would occasionally come out and find German tourists sitting in my car taking pictures of each other. I don't mind when I have given people permission to do that, but not when they just think it is an amusement park ride and there for picture taking purposes. Must be something that is ok in Germany, because they always seemed to be from that country.

I came out one day and some parent was putting his 3 year old yard ape on my FLH. I explained nicely how very uncool that is and there are biker types who would just take his kid for a slave.

I was working at the Courthouse and parked my '63 VW where I could see it from the office. I've had another Bug which had been stolen so I was a little paranoid. Anyway, I glance out of the window and noticed some fat lady parking her butt on my fiberglas front end. The Bug was an old race car in it;s former life. So I walk out to my Bug and ask the lady if it was her car, but before she could answer, I said, "I don't think so because it's mine. So get your fat butt off of my car!". You have to picture me yelling at this lady in a Deputy Sheriff's uniform, heh, heh, heh..........

Haha - funny. I hear ya, sometimes I'm just not in the mood to answer any questions. For some reason 50% of the people I run into like to try and argue about some component on my car....that I built.

"What motor? Uh huh, well it looks like a xxx. Are you sure?"

But you have to be polite...hard sometimes though.
