WOW! What chit load of work! But I have the first one roughed in. Making the mounts was tough, it all has to go in from the under side as a assembly and they had to have adjustment up down and side ways. Got the 1st figured out so now finish it up and the other side should be easy.
In response to Iron Rat's PM. Here is the build thread hope it helps with your sys questions.
This is where it sits now, thought it was going to make it on the road this year but its not looking real good now with all the other projects I need to get done in the next 90 days. Sucks to be me.
Its been awhile and a few of you have asked when I would be getting back to my 52. well I hope as soon as spring hits[P
I got another set of tail lights and hope these will be the last and final set as I think I have about 10 different sets. These are 55/56 Merc from Lee Lenses. I amd working on mocking up the cans to French them in, hope they work.
Also have the grill in my basement trying to get it converted and ready for install. So I haven't completely blown it off. Building other peoples cars steals so much of my time and energy its tough to get enthused about working on another car in any free time that I do have. BUT! I so want to drive it this summer, in flat black of course
Got the 52 out of storage the other day in hopes of having it running and driving very soon. The grill is almost done and I have started on the new tail lights.
I got one of the buckets made and mocked in. Doesn't look like much now but at least I am back on my own car for a change.
Pulled a very late night and worked on the 52 till 12:30.
Got the rear bumper on so I could get the spacing for the tail lights right and for the exhaust tips. You guys would be proud of me on the exhaust I made the whole system out of scrap lying around the shop not one dime invested at all. It was late and the pics are kinda dark sorry.
Progress!!!!! won't be long now!
I finally got to drive it today!!!! I made a video and its fun but I can't get it to post here. It is on Face book at Creative Restorations.
I am just not that good with putters for this stuff.
After the 1st run the other day I realized that I needed to get the air cleaner done and on it. The carb had been covered and taped for storage but now I need it open. So I finished up the caddy can.
Finally got both tail light cans made and one installed. I first had to rebuild the opening because I had cut it all out trying to fit the Kiser lights that didn't work out. Still have some tweaking to do but I like it sofar.
Had to get some other stuff done so I had to walk away from the 52 for a bit but this week end I decided "F" everybody else I am going to get something done on my own car for a change. I got the front sheet metal done and in the semi gloss Black then installed it and it was time for it to finally get its grin.
Now I can't wait to get the black on the rest of it!!!
