Hi Mr Gasser that is a home made fabbed up copy of the so cal front mount my dad is a life long street rodder all 32 coups and model a coups and 2door sedans his latest is a 31 2 door model a sedan with a 55 buick nail head tri- power 4 speed with dirt track magneto and lake exhaust quick change rear with the hi buggy rear spring but he put many hours getting that fabbed up for me since I dont have a heavy enough welder for 1/4 inch metal. I was originally going to use the bug axle with the extender but he drove the direction of the dropped axle and i have to admit im much happier with this set up even though the so cal parts are astronomical in cost so he used his knowledge of the axle setup to peice together the components for the beetle front frame head. the thing with the mount my dad cut and welded that all with patterns made from visual pictures and trial and error and correction a true early street rodder bfrom time before they had all the street rod components for sale he had to make everything from scratch for many years through the 70s. I have to raise a glass and big ty to my dad.

here are a few more pictures i cut the dash free from the car klink made a suggestion nto cut the dash in the center to make a v to match the split windsheild so i cut it out tonite also Vd it then i cut in the steering column mountand stitched in the forward firewall in prep for the front inner fenderwells in after fabbing in the hairpin pockets.i also made the rear decklid structure removeable with a couple screws to be able to slide that motor out easier since the body is so low on the pan.
