My 3rd wife had three kids when we met. This one and I became fast friends. She had never seen this, so I took her.
Here he comes...
she was a little skittish getting close, but here he comes...
she's getting her nerve up, but here he comes...
And the pass...
They did have one at Sturgis a couple years ago. No lion in a side car though, lol. I think the last famous one was that lady who died a couple years back.
Is she throwing something at him?
It was customary to pass dollar bills by leaning out and letting the daredevil take the bill. I haven't seen it set up in years around here either. I believe this was at the "Cabbage Patch" bar near Daytona during Biketoberfest. I was a little miffed that they didn't have many Harley 45s doing the stunts like the old days. No lion in the sidecar. Most were riding small jap bikes. They only had one 45 still running.
In about 1979 we moved to North Carolina and went to a fair there and they had one of those set up. I remember watching the motorcycles going higher and higher and really didn't feel comfortable being there.............I kept thinking the bike was going to come over the top and smash into us !
Those people have guts who ride those things in there. I think it was part of the Joey Chitwood (think I have that name right) thrill show on wheels.
