Picked up a nice '56 today, the engine and transmission were robbed for the previous owners '53 Coupe Deville so I plan to drop a 350 SBC and 400 TH in it.

I'm kinda liking the way it looks now. Get the rear bumper back on and trim up the fender skirt lips. Maybe even raise it an inch or so. Joe Six Packs Cadillac Hot Rod Gasser! .....the 4door kinda kills that though I guess....

Not to be a critic or nuttin' but a
350 seems a bit small for a heavy car like that.
You could probably pic up a good Cadillac Northstar at a wreckers for low bucks, now that would be cool. There is a conversion kit to turn the horizontally mounted front wheel drive engine to rear drive.

Real nice car. Guys like you make me feel even more like a slacker on my cars. The SBC is a good choice , you could probably still tow with it. I can't wait to see what it looks like when you get her back on the road.

Anything special you had to do to drop that 350 in? The motor in my caddy isnt so good and i was thinking about swapping it for a built 327/400.
