If everything checks out on it today I'll pull the trigger. 1999 F-350 cab and chassis. 7.3 with a 6 speed and 4.10 gears. $2650
It has 210,000, some hail damage but is clean as a whistle underneath, not a drip of oil anywhere. It just got traded in yesterday and it's cheap because it hasn't been through the shop. My buddy who is a tech there and who turned me onto it, he will check it out today and make sure it doesn't need a bunch of $$$.
Now I can retire the old 92 F-250 with the 300-6.

those are some good tough trucks...

i have heard that those engines are 300,000 mile motors and some even more, so it should be good for more picking/towing...

the 6.0 that replaced the 7.3... well not as good IMHO

Deal is still pending. My friend, who is a tech, is actually doing the deal since he works there. They did get it started but it wasn't hitting on all 8. He is going to do a cylinder kill test and then do a compression test on the weak holes. If it has bad compression I will pass but hopefully it is just some bad injectors.
Also found out it is a 2000

I did get the deal made on that 2000 P/S. Compression was good and we slid a set of good used injectors in that cost me zip. Ended up getting the truck for 2 grand. I finally got a bed on it and am just finishing it up. Typical for me, had to get a pos bed that needed work, like adding 2 1/2 feet to it. But anyway, just need plates and insurance now. And a set of back tires.

All my friends who traded in their 7.3's for the 6.0's weren't that happy. Never owned a powerstroke so I wouldn't know the difference
Wouldn't hold up in court either cause it's hearsay

My buddy wants me to buy his old cummins 3/4 ton. I would love to have it as a tow rig, but have to many other items sitting around right now.
