i love the car. he is looking to get 17k for it. i don't know what its worth. i was trying to get 18k for my bike.

i have other pics if you want me to show you. i know it has 307 with 3speed. 9" rear. he has sent videos and pics for me to see. i have not seen it in person though. to far away.

I don't know much about this. Is it really worth 17k. some of the pics he sent of the 4-link look alittle unsafe with welds. but it might just be me. let me know if you want to see more of the car. thanks Joe

I would trade in a hot second.
Its hard to get anything for anything in this economy.
I sold my Harley and the next day bought my 46 chevy truck. I have never looked back.

Its safer.
Your friends can go with you.
Chicks still dig it.
It has a v8
Its safer
Its way safer

That was my thinking anyway.:D

Open mouth and insert foot.

After recieving the photos, I dont think its a $17K car.
It does look good in that first photo though.

Dont ever listen to anything I say.:D

True at that, a good go over with the MIG and some side plates will help fix any weld joint. BUT.......IMO, I would not pay no $16k, or anything more then $6k for that ride. The most expensive part on that ride is the body, just because of the fad rat scene. The rest of the build is less then $2500 or less in total building cost. You can go up to Winona Minnesota and get a nice sedan body for less then $2500, complete, fenders, doors, hoods, etc....

This "RAT scene" has pushed the actual price of our rides off the shelf, just because it is a fad craze moving around the world. If the ride had a freaky engine, that is actually hard to come by, in all traditional standards, then MAYBE it would bring the value of the ride into a ball park figure of $10K.

You can go and purchase the parts for less then half the asking price and build it yourself, and and up saving more then you could emagine. I am sorry for sounding off on this issue, you asked for opinions, and you got my answer. I think outside of the bax everyday, and am always searching ways to save money to make my builds as inexpensive as possible.

I for one would not trade my scooter for anything like that, but thats me!
I am one who looks around for a better deal and build my own ride to save the hard earned cash for another day. It is hard enough in our days with the exorbient fuel prices looming towards the $5 mark. A bike is a better investment if you look at the ecconnomy and the direction evrything is heading. And I still have big blocks in a couple of my rides too

bolth are nice rides

but just my 2c but wouldnt you feel better keeping the bike and spending just a ball park range of $7000 if that much and have the car that you built your self and the bike like i said just my 2c

I would do anything I could to see it in person or find someone you trust to look at it before you do anything. Pictures can be decieving.

The car looks great and if it's as mechanically well built as it looks It might be worth it, but you need to take dmw56's advise and check it out in person before parting with your bike. Thats just good business and it protects you and the other guy. I'll probably get yelled at by somebody but IMO, $17,000 IS a lot for a rat. I've seen some total death trap rats sell for almost that much and pictures/video's can be really decieving. Not that this car is junk but LordMaximo said it right in saying that rat's have been pushed over the edge in price. Just be careful! Once gone, YOUR bike will be impossible to replace.

TRADE

In 5 years that car will be worth more than that bike. I know, I build bikes and cars and though the market is soft for both, cars stand up to it better. This is money though we are talking about and you can't factor in the feelings or put a price on them. How much do you love your bike or do you?

That's tough. I've built bikes and I almost have my car done. I would say the bike is easier to build but harder to make look clean. I think I could build another bike in about three months but a car would still take me at least a year, how much is your time worth? As said before how good is the quality?

Why not build your own car, you'll appreciate it more and it will be what you actually want, lots of help on here as well.

My bike $12000. My car $15000 and counting, but almost done:D.

Sell the bike and build your own rat. Nice looking car by that pic, but not 17 worth. But then I don't think there are many rods worth 17.

If the welds don't look right to you, then don't do it.

If you ar not 100% sure, don't do it.

If you are sure about it, GO FOR IT.....

Both are cool rides. But My question is "Will you ever get that kind of money for the bike?Myself I would go and check it out in person.Look it over real good.Every ride that you buy will need work period.Even if you build one from scratch it will never be done to your taste. We all build them and constantly changing this or that.

I think that the car would be a much easier thing to roll on down the road if you decide its not for you than the bike would be.

Just My opinion and I know that we all have them.
