I'm getting the cab and bed off the frame to clean everything. I've got 5 of 8 bolts out of the bed...probably just by luck. My question is the bolts have a square head...instead of a phillips/flathead/ hex bolt ect... Is there a tool specific for this or do I just need to cut them off somehow? I can't unbolt them without them spinning. An open end wrench doesn't fit. Not many things around the house strong enough to work.

I`d just cut them off with a cut-off wheel or a hacksaw if you can get one in there , probably best to replace those old bolts anyway , wear safety glasses !!!

yeah, your're going to need new bolts anyways. that's kinda cool though, i didn't know they used to have square head bolts

I had some carrage bolts that were spinning one time and I couldnt cut them with out tearing up the bed, so I welded a regular nut to the top of them and used a wrench to hold them.

I've used boneheads trick a million times to get me out of trouble. All you do is set a steel nut on top of the part you want to hold, position the electrode deep down into the threaded hole, and weld the hole up. The heat also acts to free things like broken off studs.

I'm terrible with an EZ out, so this works so much better for me.
