I'm sitting in a "classroom" getting ready to start a orientation program for hauling campers across the United States and Canada. This should help me be able to haul all the parts and pieces for everyone at a fair price and should allow me to keep busy when I want to be.

This will be the closest to having a boss that I've had for about ten years. Let's hope it works out!

How's that work Eric? Does it put you on a preferred list of haulers for campers moving around wherever or are you going to have a regular schedule?

I will be a sub contractor for a transport company that has contracts with the manufacturers of new campers and fifth wheels to deliver the units to dealerships all over the world. It's a non forced dispatch company, meaning I can take a load when ever I want or do my own thing when ever I want. It pays better then auto transport usually does but usually you end up dead heading home. But I have a plan in the works to take care of the deadheading. :D

I hear there's good money in that. Good luck!

There can be. The dead head is what is the major down fall. But I have a crazy trailer plan in the works that should help with that.

Thanks for the well wishes guys!

A friend of mine does that. The company he works for is based out of Elkhart Indiana.
Except for being gone from home extended amounts of time he loves it.

He started out with his truck and trailer and has since got a mini Freightliner and 55' trailer.

Good luck and happy motoring.

Good luck to you, hope it works out. I had a Aunt+Uncle that did that and they told me that one time they were making a delivery somewhere in Louisiana and the DOT pulled them over and told them they had to have a permit to deliver in that town. Cost 500 $ plus they charged 10 percent for using a credit card. That"s the kind of stuff that keeps me from trying to do that kind of thing. I guess you know all about that stuff..

A good company should pay for any permits or pay the drivers back for them. The company I'm leasing to will pay for all tolls, permits etc.

I will not be forced dispatch so I only run when I want to. No way would I do forced dispatch!

Thanks again for the well wishes. So far it's going well. Still have about a days worth of orientation left and then should have my first load.

Just got my first load assigned to me. A 26' travel trailer out to Salt Lake City Utah. I plan on making a pit stop in grand junction to see Jeff (bonehead) and to check out the Rock Junction off road event on my way out.

If anyone needs anything moved Lmk! I have room for parts n pieces going both ways and can get a car dolly or trailer for the way back.
