I like to watch Ice Road Truckers in the summer. Get a kick out of those people in "-30" degrees driving with their windows down. Cools me off when it's 110 here.

I also watch any show where they are building things. I DVR them so I can watch a 30 minute show in 10 minutes without the commercials and drama.
I get a lot of inspiration and knowledge from the Power Nation shows (used to be Power Block).

Earthman - You're only getting replays from people that don't watch TV.

Guess where everyone else is. :D:D:D

Personaly I like when Telemundo runs old James Bond movies. Sean Connery as James Bond speaking Spanish cracks me up.

I dont watch tv. Their is not much Im interested in, and if I find something I want to watch ,their is too many ads ,so I dont turn it on. I have a small { 1 foot } tv , I can use in case of bad weather ,to see whats going on.That"s all I use it for.

We cut the cable in 1996. Got tired of the kids fighting over TV shows. Warned them many times finally had follow through with the threat. It was one of the best things i've ever done. Haven't watched the new in almost 20 years. Don't have a clue as to what is going on in the world and it has made my life awesome. The last couple of years we signed up for netflix and watch a show or two every night or so.

Well, I should admit that I go the other way whenever I see anything Meguiar. I try never to Wash, wax, or detail anything. Not wild about that show either.

I've never seen it of course. They announced it on the PA.

We have a theater room in the mansion, that is mainly used for superbowl parties, and movies with friends. Personally I don't watch a lot of tv but the wife does.

yep
when my bride and i got together i already had a kick butt home theater sound system and she bought an 80 inch super teevee
i only use it for movies
she loves teevee though (blech!)

Not now............I'm watching the game...............

I was right there with you.
I watch football and baseball when I can. Other than that and a few movies once in a while I can do without all the drama.
I don't need to know who's killing who or where the drug dealers are.

I admit it....I like to watch tv...

But mostly after work....come home, sit down with a late night snack and watch the tube....relaxes me ....hour or hour and a half and then to bed...been working the midnight or afternoon shifts so long that I'm not sure I'd want a day job...my kids played sports and did well with their limited to weekend tv.....they like to watch movies more than regular programs.....

I voted that I watch TV every day, and I do. I have a few shows that I like. When I get home from work I turn on Judge Judy, then I flip through all the channels and generally end up on Velocity with some car show. And, I usually end up the night with the local news.

But I am a channel surfer and can't stay on one channel too long. When I have been in a relationship I have had the woman grab the remote from me and say she couldn't take the constant channel changing ! :D But I get bored easily.

When Bonehead was here we were discussing how life was like before TV.
Neighbors would sit on their porches or out in the yard in the evenings after dinner. You could go for a walk and see who was out and just stop and visit for a while. As a child i would sit and listen to the men tell their stories and learn about life.
At home i would sit on the floor in front of the big floor model radio/record player and picture in my mind what i was hearing on the old radio shows. My Dad in his rocking chair (temporarily calm) smoking his pipe. My older brother popping up a big bowl of popcorn. These are the only good memories i have of my childhood and it all came to an end in the early '60's when the tube ended a way of life. I suppose i am bitter.

I remember when we got our first TV...

it was a 10 or 12" Muntz.....the cabinet was huge and the screen was tiny....I think I was about six or eight at the time...my memories of watching the Saturday night fights with my grandfather..are the best memories of my childhood ....so I watch cartoons with my grandchildren while we color or do other stuff....so TV isn't all bad.....

Yeah Sarge, I remember seeing Elvis and the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. Hop-A- Long Cassidy, the Lone Ranger, Sky king, Captain Kangaroo and Howdy Doody.
Not so bad.

Sept 1962, the last radio program of radio's golden age signed off for good. :( But there's good news! [cl

If you have SirrusXM, they have a channel dedicated to the golden age of radio! [cl I listen to it in the truck and love it. I find myself taken back to the 40's and 50's, eras before my time. I can just imagine driving down the road in my 47 Lincoln, listening to The Shadow, Phillip Marlow, Jack Benny, Fred Allen, Phil Harris and Alice Faye, Fibber McGee and Molly and others when they were broadcast live. Theater of the mind as it was called.

I may put a SirrusXM in the Lincoln just to complete the fantasy..........

Yep, those are available on the computor too Bam. Just a little taste of the world that exsisted then. [P
