Wait a minute,,,,,,Bamamav said he tied an exhaust pipe up with wire!
Thats just wrong you should always use an approved exhaust hanger with proper mounting bolts as needed.
one more, I lost shift linkage on an automatic, started it, friend stepped on the brake and I kicked into gear with a stick. also, big truck n trailer lost air brakes drove home with downshifting and parking brake. (older semi truck) driveline manual parking bro.

I hit a hump one night in the airboat coming out of the marsh into Lk. Yale. I could tell it was sitting low in the water when I got to open water. I shined the light out across the dark lake and saw nothing but gator eyes shining back. Turned the boat around and perched it up on the hump. I had ripped the seam in the glass at the bottom edge of the transom. I scratched up a tube of 3M silicone and a bread bag. Put a layer of silicone along the edge, then pressed the bag wrapper in it and used the rest of the silicone along the outside. Waited a few minutes and went on across.

Back in the day, I got tired of using the ignotion key, so I converted the power window switches to turn on and start the car.
Window lock switch turned ignition on/off. Front drivers window switch up powered the starter. Passanger side front disabled.
Drivers rear now operates the driver front window, and passanger side rear ran passanger side front window. Both rear windows blacked out and inoperable.

I had the air cleaner off once and the screen over the carb too. Dropped a nut in the carb by accident. Got the carb stuck in full open all the time. This was before I had any brains to try and fix it.
So with the car at wide open throttle all the time, pull up to a light, clutch in, car off. Light turns green, in gear, clutch in, start car, slip clutch like crazy to go, and shift hard!!!
Drove it like that for a couple weeks before I traded the car to a.......um.......person. He got arrested in the car later when it finally gave up the ghost in the middle of the night.

Meth.......... Not even once.

hahaha

Apologies Smallfoot !!

ok not quite but similar vein....

A friend needed his 55 chev tudor picked up rather urgently ( too long story) ..
Anyway we got the biggest trailer we could find, and hitched to the back of my old ford falcon.. arriving at the shed we then had to push his chev out on to the road, lining it up with the trailer, however the chev was just too wide for our dual axle trailer there was no way it was going to fit..

so in the spirit of 'we are taking it now' we tied the chevs bumper to the back of the trailer and we convoyed it out of there, my buddy steering his chev tied to the trailer attached to the falcon ...

having to cross a main road I hoped for a really big break in the traffic (yes!). and back country roaded it some 5 miles home ....

those were the days .....

Went fishing with a buddy once ... he's driving we get to the steam park , go do our fishing & come back ready to leave ,van cranks over but won't run ..
we check it out ...somebody has taken the coil wire .. so now what ? we're out in the sticks ! My buddy ain't phased at all grabs a pair of pliers hands them to me & says go get me about a foot of that barbed wire fence ! I comply
he jams in the wire & off we go ... think he drove like that rest of the summer '... kind of like a badge of honor for him .

Shifter linkage snapped in an old 3/4T truck at the farm. Cut a comb style hole in the floor knocked the rest of the old linkage off the trans, stuck a pipe with a notch in it to hold the knob and a through bolt. Never had another shifter on it. They still use the truck.

Used to work for a farmer on and off when I was in high school. His regular hired hand had beater 73 LTD. The first time I saw it, all I noticed was he had aftermarket round taillights screwed to his trunk. Everytime I saw it after that, something else was screwed up. Vise-a-grips for a steering wheel, crowbar dents all over it, broken drivers side windows, missing door handles, part of the passenger side quarter panel was ripped off, and the last time I saw it, the windshield was gone!

I'd forgotten about that car until now. I can't remember a thing about the guy, but I remember everything about that car.
