Ok.

After thinking and my back hurtin, Ive decided to use the already got turbo 350 tranny.

I found the incredible long kool shifter arm I want and I have the shifter ball to. Im wondering if I can find a floor type non ratchet type shifter that will work on my ride? Something out of a regular car or truck with no up n dwn ratchet crap that I can adapt my own shifter handle onto?

Spectre makes a 36 dollar universal one that fits on my tranny and I could adapt my handle onto it. Any other ideas? Nott wanting to dump tons into it. Wat cars or trucks might work? Tnx, RR[S

Be very careful here. A shifter needs firm and definite detents for safety reasons. The Lokars and Gennies are a little more expensive than building your own, but if your shifter accidently drops down into second at highway speeds, or if you bump it and it goes into reverse when going forward, it can have very serious consequences. I know of one T bucket that was totalled when the tranny went into second gear at 70 mph, throwing it out of control.

Even one of the store bought ones, if not adjusted properly, can do the same things...........I've had it happen on my Lokar until I tightened it up a little. Just saying...............

I have had good luck with a B&M shifter from Summit. Not too expensive and is a lift up out of park, and then it is just back and forth through the gears.
