I had to laugh at some of the failed timed starts....guy gets up to his turn and chokes it out...hilarious! You can just imagine some of the comments as the co-pilot has to get out, crank it up, and crawl back in...

That was like a trip in a time machine. You can hear the engines running smoother and revving higher as the years go by. I didn't realize auto racing began almost immediately.

We had an oval track 100 years ago in a near by town that was actually a fairgrounds and they races like those in the video...

There was a huge photograph from back in that era in a fast food restaurant showing the cars racing down the track...exhaust and dust flying everywhere...

Talk about daring men from back in the day...thanks for sharing.
