I started getting after the front brakes today. I have econoline spindles and some flat caliper brackets from a roundy round car supply. GM metric calipers and Ford Aerostar rotors. I am trying to decide if I want to bolt the brackets on (maximum of 3 7/16 bolts) or just weld them on.
So welding on spindles, yeah, nay, taboo?

Look at some of the disc brake kits my 63 F100 had a bump out on the bracket. I think they use 4 bolts to mount the adapters. Might be better to weld another small plate onto the your bracket for a 4th bolt hole than to weld on the spindle. (I have no idea if welding on the spindle is bad) Just a thought....

i found this today
