Yep, went and traded the Maverick for the 46 Lincoln today! Researched it for a month, made my final decision today when we cranked it---little sbc fired on the third round and ran smooth! Only thing that came out of the tailpipes was dirt dauber nests and some rust, no smoke at all!

This thing is solid, other than a few bubble rust spots and one dent in a fender. Absolutely no rust through that I have found yet.

Lots of things to do, brakes are first before I unload it off the trailer. Tires are all dry rotted, but I kept the wheels and tires off of the Maverick. Hood cable has stretched and can't get the hood back open, and trunk is locked and no key to it. Just a few small things to straighten out to get it to a driver again, then I can get on the body and paint. Yep, this old girl deserves shiny paint!:D

I will post a build thread in a few days with lots of pics as I do stuff. And probably ask a bunch of questions! And I will be posting the 36 Dodge truck for sale soon.

I carried the camera, but got so involved in the deal and loading, I forgot to take any until I got home! I took a few just before dark, still got to get them off the camera and upload to photobucket, I'll try to do that tomorrow and get some posted up.

Here's a few shots of it at it's new home. It started raining, so I didn't get to explore it too much...

Definitely a cool ride, what are your plans for the chrome that is now black?

Mechanical stuff first, then the cosmetics. For now, it will stay black, when I get her running and driving, I'm going to pull it off, sand, and repaint it metallic silver with a clearcoat, it will look like a powdercoat. Sometime in the future, I'd like to go back with chrome stuff, so I'll probably try to find some that can be rechromed. I've seen some on eBay already, so I know it's out there, just will be a slow [and expensive :D] process to find it all.
