Soooo.
You said you brought it in on a boat not brought it in after searching a boat...
Did you seize the weed
Or was it for one of Oliver North's bake sales?

I remember when I was going to AA I was visiting some freinds and his wife asked if I'd like a coke. I said sure and as she was going into the other room she said I'll go get you some.
My mind was racing....I thought to myself "she said some coke...not A coke...omg what kind of place is this"
to my relief she came back with a red can full of nothing but good old soda pop.
The silver tray she came back with had about 20 joints fanned out in a nice arrangement but all she had for me was a pop lol

Not a search/seizure but an undercover transport operation. Not a Contra type operation either. It was completely funded by the trafficking organization and they were busted at the end. That pile of pot was my bed for six days. Our boat cabin was too full to sleep anywhere else....50 foot Hattaras sport fisherman. I liked the aircraft runs better except the part where you have to land on some makeshift dirt airstrip in the middle of nowhere and you're greeted by fellas with machine guns who want to check you out before loading your plane.

Jeez Gas, i imagined you worked in a factory that maybe had gov't contracts. Well you will have some good stories to tell the Grandkids. :)

Ya know..."Little Joe" and Shelly told me you were invovled as a detective "or something like that". Growing up in a house full of cops, I thought good for you, but dang....you got a bigger set then I ever would have to do some of that stuff. Before going to Penn State for mechanical engineering, I thought seriously about following in the family tradition and was considering a degree in criminalogy at the University of Tennesee.

Bill, my hats off to you for your efforts in trying to clean up some of the garbage infesting this country! You more then earned your retirement...enjoy the heck out of it!

When my Kids were about 12 we lived in Deltona Florida and one day we went fishing on a seawall on Lake Monroe in Sanford. We were using cane poles, and we kept noticing a sea plane that was momentarily landing on the lake, then it would take off, and then land again, and keep repeating that procedure. My Sons asked me what they were doing and I said I figured a new pilot was practicing landing on the water.

A while later this nicely wrapped package came floating my me on the water, it was about 12 x 12 x 6 inches or so. I poked at it with my canepole to see what it was, and all I could see was white inside the clear plastic wrapping. HOLY CRAP.................IT'S COCAINE!!!!!!!!!!! When I told my Kids what it was they said "Let's take it to the police, Dad!" NO WAY.......I could just see me getting stopped and try to explain THAT ONE. So we left.

That night on the news they had a story about a huge drug bust on Lake Monroe, and they had all these packages laid out on a table. They picked up one package, just like the one I had seen, and said "These packages are each worth about $ 150,000.00." I had $ 150 K on the end of my fishing pole, and if you think I didn't momentarily think what a fool I was for pushing it away, you are kidding yourself. But I was also relieved that I didn't have anything to do with it, and that they caught the guys who were transporting that stuff.

But $ 150K buys a LOT of chrome parts. [ddev

I know. I would never actually touch it, but when you see the numbers this stuff is worth I can understand how some people might get involved with it. If you take some underprivilaged kid from the poor side of town, the amount of money they can make must be tempting as h***.

Momma always said and was always proved right..."You do wrong and even if you don't get caught, ain't nothing good ever going to come of it"

Doing wrong puts a curse, a stain, and a stink on everything that touches the act.
I'm a libertarian and I can say There's damn good reasons drugs are restricted.

Problem is, it can buy you a lot of jail time too.

Dollar signs far outweigh the jail signs for most people involved in that trade!:(

Bill, I'm really impressed with your past occupation! I never imagined you did that for a living. I for one thank you for doing more than you're fair share. The neighborhood I grew up in has a long history of drug OD's. I lost a few friends from that time also....CR
