What features do you consider "obligatory" on a Rat Rod?

Use what you have around. Black primer, anything you can weld togather. Throw away the rule book! Make sure its mere presents insults your neighbors that keep asking me if i know what year it is. Stay outside/Live within

i'm new, and young, but from the little time i've been around i'd say: big wheels and tires at least in the back, a grill, some rust and a kickass name for it

i like reading this thread.
everybody has their own ideas of what makes cool.
and i like that.

to me rust looks like laziness.
and i like chrome.
novelty cars bug me.
but lots of folks like em.
