A bud spotted it in Indy today with a film crew following it.

The shape of the grille makes me think Bugatti. They always seemed to have very skinny chrome grille shells, like this one has. Wonder who and why they were filming this ?

I've been doing some digging. I think it's a hybrid racecar from back in the day. The first pic I came across was this 1934 Bugatti Type 59-14...

BUT....it just didn't look right around the hood, so.....I found the Type 57 S roadster...looks a lot closer around the hood area

Then I found a pic of a Type 57 C... A racecar of some sort. I guess modifying the fenders was a common thing, but they didn't know much about aerodynamics. Unless cutting them down like that was for the sole purpose of faster tire changes (?)

Anyway...I tend to agree that it's a Bugatti, but again some type of coach built racecar. I'd guess it started life as a mid 30's Type 57
