I am sorry I cant post pics yet guys. Its been raining for 2 days straight and we cant get to the truck to pull it out yet.We did have some fun mud sliding though.ANYWAY...what I was wondering is once I get the cab off what do I keep..? The bed is trashed so no keeping that. But what about the hood..? The fenders and the whole rolling chassis..? The guy I bought from it has a straight axle under the front but dat dont need nuttin to me..Should I just haul it all off to the scrap yard..?The engine is frozen solid.
I dont keep all the steering parts parts do I.? How about the brake pedals and such..?Guy I got it from found a second set of doors for it in his barn..said I could have 'em.:D
Oh I found a 9 inch rear end complete today...50.00 dollars.Seems the guy is moving and needs the money. Sounds like me when I moved...!! Why does it seem when you buy something you always wanted....10 or more happen to show up for sale right after you buy it..? Why and the hell is that...?:D

I say don't get rid of anything until you have a plan laid out and know what you will need. Just remember if you throw it away today you will need it tomorrow. Once you are done (are they ever?) Then liquidate. My $.02

Hang on to everything. Later keep in mind that other people want the items you will throw away, sell what you can and give away the rest. trash as little as you can.

I second Boneheads reponse. I still kick myself for some of the stuff I junked or sold because my taste was different before or didnt want to store the stuff.

What they said! Everything you think is trash is something you very well could find a use for later. On top of trucks parts, I've started hauling home stuff my boss gave me from a building demolition / renovation job. Pieces of 60 year old steel, old industrial light fixture parts, brass bolts, steel utility cover plates, conduit, etc.. You get the idea. Metal prices are going through the roof and so are original or salvage yard truck parts. Salvage as much of your original truck as you can. It's priceless when you start fabricating a rat rod. In my opinion anyway.

Keep it!

Like all the guys said... don't thow anything away...especially the bed. You can re-use the front, sides & tailgate even if the bed part is trash. You can sell lots of the rest... treasure to someone else!!!
