i'm bad

My wife gets annoyed by me since I never take the same route twice. Its at the point my in laws point stuff out for me. More so than the father in law. I even spotted cars in the creek while discing the field. My father in law never told me about them. I got off the tractor to look at them but they were on the other side. When it dries up enough they are getting pulled out to sell. I want to keep them all but I am running out of room. Plus that's how I found my old ford. at my in laws farm. My father in law and I are racing to see who gets to build the 55 ford first. He has to retire and I have 2 projects to finish before I get to it. I honestly would rather drive around on back roads hunting if I can't work on my truck but I don't do it as often anymore due to gas prices.

Ten years ago yes, but not so much in my area any more. The elements aren't kind to the tin up here in Ontario. Most anything that is salvageable now is hiding in old barns and driving sheds. Very hard to spot just driving around. You pretty much have to go on the stories you hear like, I talked to guy that knows a guy..... Even the big car swap meets seem to be turning more and more every year into Nick Nacks and Chinese made memorabilia shows. The Barrie Flea market is a prime example, but it's still a good place to network and hear the stories.

Found this one through a friend hiding out in the woods. Watch out for the snakes, ticks & etc..

I recently was told of a story about a guy in my area, who I do know personally. He stumbled onto a treasure trove find somewhere in the US. Apparently this farmer has some land that was once and old river bed. When Ford was closing out the Model A lines in 31 and tooling up for the 32 they just dumped a crap load of complete bodies and parts and panels into this river bed and back filled it all in. If he hadn't been told directly where they were you'd never find them. He is now making a career out of digging them out and apparently they are almost mint. I have yet to see these bodies but I do intend to investigate this a little closer. If it's true I intend to put in my order for a coupe body. [dr

I call it birddoggin. If I,m in a car thats what I'm doing. Found my current project 50 f5 bobber that way. Take as many pictures as I can when I remember my camera. I keep a file on whatever I find pics, location, contact
person, condition, price whatever I can find out. A little tip for snowy conditions. The old stuff had stanless steel trim. And will shine in daylight.
I have found many a car just by catching that gleaming in a woods before the leafs or behind a barn while driving. Yesterday in Darke Co. Ohio I found a 1956 Pontiac 2dr hardtop that way. It was in between a barn and some pine trees. No one home but I,ll go back. It,s really suprizing how much stuff is out there if you look.
