Why Does My Intake Fit ?

I have a frankenstein engine built out of 2 350s.
It runs fine and has good oil pressure and no blue smoke.
My question is,
How did I put Old Intake Manifold on heads with center bolt valve covers?[S
I am glad they fit,but I have always been told they would not.
Heads are 1987.
Just thought of this today and I am sure you guys know the correct information.

no problem with the 87 heads it's the vortech heads that the center bolt holes have to be worked. i have put the old intakes on 90 model with no problems.

The intake fit because your heads are not Vortech. Center bolt valve covers predated the switch by a few years...
