I was 18 and set to go. Two days before time to go, the friend I was going with was not able to go.
It didn't bother me not going and most likely for the best :p

I was 17....I must have lead a sheltered life, as I never heard of it until a year or so later. Maybe I was just dense. Had dopers for friends, but never got into that.

Yeah, I was around 15 and had a sheltered life too...I was told if
I tried to sneak off and go I would not have any shelter when i
got back!!!!!!:eek::eek:

I was 10, not exactly old enough to drive to way up there.:rolleyes: It was probably 75 or 76 before I heard of it, and even then didn't hear too much. I didn't really start noticing things going on outside of my small world until about then, either. We watched Cronkite on the CBS evening news, I remember the coverage of Vietnam and hoped I wouldn't have to go there, and I barely remember some guy called the Shaw of Iran getting kicked out or something.

If it wasn't happening within 20 miles of home, it pretty much didn't concern me back then.... :)

I was just getting out of High School...was 18...

Went into the Army shortly after H/S...Wasn't into this type of deal...no drugs, no trippin....I was not what you'd call the Hippy type....LOL..

I was 21 in 69 and lived in Pa. at the time, so 2 buddies and I headed to Woodstock....There was some fun the first day and some great music but after the first night things started to get ugly there was no where to pee or poop so the people that were real stoned just peed and pooped any where they wanted to and wiped there butts with dirty socks and just threw them on the ground. by the 2nd night there was no clean water to drink and food was no where to be found, people were puking everywhere, so everyone was walking in puddles of puke, pee and poop! by then if you were there you were stuck there, it was not what you see on TV! so if you didn't go you did not miss much.
