The place they were racing isn't all that secluded & there are lots of cops around! Rut row!!!

9:30 PM??? We never raced before midnight. Although that back in the 80's when common sense was way more common. We always had a look out too.

As street racing was ending in the San Fernando Valley in the early '80s, LAPD would block off both ends of the street and tow everyone's cars. Racer were arrested for speed contest and spectators were cited for aid and abetting. Then an ordinance which allowed the Courts to order the racers cars crushed, was the nail in the coffin.

See the cars that they were towing? I don't think these were the most serious of car guys...
