Well I'm going to bite the bullet and get this build thread started. Sharing the experience of build a great project is as fun as cruising it when your done. Please don't refrain from comments go or bad as long as there constructive [;)

The constant remodel going on at my house and my new little girl make it hard to spend as much time as I would like in the garage but very relaxing working through complex problems requiring tools I will never get to use. That being said, this truck needs to be on The road before summer to fully enjoy our short rod season here in Oregon.

The plan is to get the truck together and driving, then get the chop and interior detailed.

Well that's the plan we'll see how that turns out[dr

Got the rails all welded up and start adding cross members. Picked up 2 old camshafts from a chev 250 straight 6. They were just long enough for the front cross.

The Z is 5" but raked to 2 1/2 at the very front. The rear is notched 19". I had the running ggear to measure before I started.

Well it won't let add anymore pics right now so more tomorrow!

Not planning on using the big a$$ fenders. Thought about scrapping them as there price would cover half the build!;)

Anybody need two extra fenders and byfold hood?

Kurt

The big fenders arnt in the plan. I would have to cut 18" out of the front beam to fit under em.

I was thinking of scrapping them, enough weight to pay for half the project

Anybody need fenders or bifold hold let me know.

Got the cab on the frame about 2 weeks ago, then started working on front suspension.

Cab channeled and sitting at ride height.

Started the front suspension. Had an idea to have the hairpins cut out in the shape of a big wrench then found these ones for pretty cheap! Add heims and call it good! Next a watt's link with a couple small wrench's and done [;)

I think the pipe wrench's are going to work good and be strong enough but you can bet your welder I'll be triple checking everything after each mile for a while.

The rear will be a more conventional 3 link set up to handle the traction of the dually's
