Thanks guys, I'm not sure about the fenders, I'm going to a car show tomorrow and I'm gonna ask around to see if anyone has gotten any grief running without. One of the shops told me as long as you don't drive in the rain shooting up monster roostertails you should be okay. I'm gonna try to get...

    Frame higher on one side..

I had the same problem on my front end when I welded in the 1/4" gussets. It was out by about a 1/4" as well. I bought a cheap little torch and used the wet rag and it went about 1/8" per try. Two tries and it was absolutely perfect. I couldn't afford a jig either and didn't even notice until I...

    brake light sending unit

That sounds like what I did. I had two wires and the casing was the ground. I hooked them up to a battery and used the brighter one for brake lights. I used the power to the third brake light to go to the sending unit and then off to the bright light wire. Sorry if I'm too technical in my...

Wow time is flying by, I didn't realize how long it's been since I've checked in. Today was a good day for me, after going for an inspection the first time I was told that he can no longer pass it without fenders, so back to the garage. I got some front fenders that bolt onto the spindles no...

I'm trying to get my glass done for my car and we're having trouble figuring out what the rear passenger windows should look like. Does anyone have any drawings or templates for the original glass to give us some ideas?? Thanks, Sean

    '31 Model A build

Thanks, I imagine I'll be feeling the same way by the time I get done. We're using SIP panels and ICF blocks so I hope it will go a little quicker, but then again I've never built an entire house by myself. The whole time I'll be having my '51 chev mocking me waiting to get done! Sean

    '31 Model A build

Thanks a lot, it was a lot of fun and it's hard leaving it in the garage now. Speedo's wired up, one seat done and glass getting measured up tomorrow. Perley- if ya need another build thread to follow I gotta start on my house next month, I hope I'm not biting off more than I can chew on that...

Thanks Gastrick, you're too kind! Not quite done yet, need glass, one more seat cushion, tranny vacuum line and the speedo pick-up wired but it was good enough to get on the road. I got to drive around the neighborhood just barely got it into second gear but wow that was cool. I thought the...

    Model A beltline

That looks great. I searched for door skins and ended up having to hammer and patch my old ones, that would have been nice to have. Sean

Thanks again, after seeing roddguy1's thread I'm kind of embarresed:confused:sp. to post. I think I got the last big hurdle done today, replacing all the inner valve springs on my AFR heads. I had to remove them for break-in and then put them all back. Getting a ton of little clean-ups done...

    Bike build

Wow, that's some shop! Did you build the jig? I have another bike design in my head that I'm gonna do someday so I gotta build a jig. The bike looks good, coming along quick. Sean

    Speedometer for my SBC 350???

Looks like the next one back. I just orderer an adapter that came with my guages. Bolts right on there and has three wires coming out of it (still haven't figured out where each one goes:D) . The Speedo gauge comes with a little button that plugs into the back, you push it, drive one mile and...

    RookieRod Model A progress

Looks like you're coming along nicely, brings back memories of the good old days (last year). That's a big step you got done now, pretty exciting seeing it like that isn't it. Sean

    Engine paint

Oh yea, make sure whatever you use is compatible. Staying with the same line is a good idea but not always required. Sean

    Engine paint

Epoxy primer goes on bare metal, then paint, therefore the easiest and I think the best. I did my car this way. VHT needs no primer, I use this on my headers and brake drums, not very many colors. I used it on a chopper engine and it was very soft and never really cured right. Make sure it's a...

    Engine paint

I painted mine with an etch primer, then a urethane prime, then Dupont Centari acrylic enamel (as per Donsrods suggestion). I've only done the break in so I can't say much of the durability but his looks great on his T-bucket. I don't think you should paint directly over the etch primer do...

    '31 Model A build

Thanks again, today was busy. I got some more stitching done, hooked up my e-brake cables, mounted the driveshaft ($250 including u-joints), and got my roof all in. Also got the steering wheel mounted, horn hooked up, and cleaned up under the dash a little bit. I have to work for a few days but...
