No,they just used cheap spray paint.

Thanks,its not just on the letters it is also on some trim,previous owner before my friend had it,sprayed it without taping it off.

What can i do to remove paint off chrome with out damaging the chrome?

Thanks very much dmw56 i really appreciate it,i will keep that in mind as soon as i can get some cash flow going again for it.Yea it's in great shape but does have some rust around the back left q p on the bottom & around the wheel well but not to bad.
