The front end is starting to take shape. I nabbed some Mercury bones with the offset in them to keep from hiding the frame a little bit. Rear struts are mocked up also.

Grrrr... forgot the pics

Yea, it seams to be comming along. My plan is to have the roller on the ground before long. I still need to get the front end in order along with some X bracing & gusset plates before it is cut away from the table. I am anxious to see how it is going to sit once I get it on the ground.

Hmmm.... that kind of sux then. At this point I am not going to mess with it. If it hampers my burnout ability I will have to take action. I guess I can shorten up the arms and move the hoop to center later on if I have to.

Thanks for letting me know

Could you possibly point the lower arms up a bit, and the uppers could probably just move the mounts down pretty easily?

It really sucks driving a car with poor link geometry, especially a high horsepower one. I get to fix a lot of that stuff. Its interesting to drive ti first and see how it feels. It helps me understand what not to be, by feeling how it affects the vehicle. A properly installed 4-link makes a much bigger impact on a vehicle than people think.

Good luck though. I doubt it will be miserable to drive or anything. Just might not launch the way you want it.

Couple more things done, welded up the spring perch and added some gussets to the perch and front crossmember. Added gusset plates in the front frame kickup. Welded in bushings for the heim joints on the trailing arms. Couple more weeks of welding on gusset plates and it should be off the frame table. Oh yea... changed the recess for the engine in the firewall a little bit to make it look more uniform and to match the trans tunnel a little nicer.

More done. I finished welding on the gusset plates to the frame. I threw in some bracing also. Once that was done I cut the frame loose from the table and flipped it over to finish up some welding.

Which prompted me to build one from scratch.... I started with some rectangular tubing.... milled one side off.... cut some out here.... bend a little there.... weld filler pieces back in the bends...

The bottom piece with the slight radius was a little tricky... I inched my way along using the new hydraulic press I built and it turned out ok I think. I then welded on a piano hinge along with a filler piece.

Oh yea... there are small L shaped brackets holding the bottom piece to each leg. Each bracket has a small screw on each upper leg holding it togeather.
