this weekend

Did some painting the weekend and some reassembly. Got the frame back to rolling. I painted my wheels and differential cover. The hood ornament was pitted really bad,so I did a little work on it. I think it looks good. This are the colors for my car. The roof and wheels will be shiny med green with the rest of the car being flatten lite green.

Got my tires mounted on my wheels. I'm still missing one rear wheel that is why the rear wheel in picture is still black. Finished the rear brakes and lines on the axle. Rolled the frame out of shop today to clean a little. Here are some pictures. I hope to start on putting the engine in next weekend.

Frame looks awesome. [cl How did you mount your front shocks? I'm going to tackle the bag install on my G body clip tomorrow and was looking at it today, thinking the tires come real close to the frame at full lock, not a lot of room for them......

I have not came up with a front shock mount yet I'm still thinking. As for tire rub I'm running a G78-15 with no rubbing aired up or down. I'm running a stock shock on the rear (85 Buick).

going large

Put the engine in frame rails. Did not think it was that big until me and my friends started fitting it. Just a little tight. And a little heavy while moving and getting in place, but well worth it. I surely couldn't have done it by myself. I'm really happy with the way it's turning out. I hope to be putting on the body in a few weeks. I will build a new firewall and a few other things. Hopefully I only have to put the body on and off just a few more times. You all know put together, take apart , put together, redo over so on and so on.

Keep up the good work. [P

Going to put body and frame together again. I cut the firewall out to make room. I also started hanging the fenders, rad. support, rad. exhaust tips. here are a few pictures. I'm hoping to work on the firewall this weekend.

workin

Well built the firewall this weekend. First with cardboard then in 15 gauge metal. What a job. I still have to mount the steering column. I did it in the cardboard, but ran out of weekend. That is for this weekend I also hope to hook the column to the rack so I can steer the thing. The picture of the firewall cut out was a few weeks ago. I bent the metal with yicegrips , 1x1 tube, and a hammer. I made some small cuts with a cutter to help it to bend easier.

Worked on the steering today. I also made the sub frame in the front for rad. support. Will post pics later.

Here are the pics of the sub frame I built. It bolts to the front of the frame on tabs. The rad. support and front bumper hooks to it. Also I worked on my dash and steering wheel. With the channel job the steering wheel was to low. I hung it to high at first. I then spit the different and finish it up.
