After the rot repair, I elected to sand blast and prime the frame, and throw some flat black rust oleum on there

Engine pretty much complete. It's sitting tight right now on a stand till I get everything ready to put it in and run it, hence the tape over all the openings

Looking good. What body style did the S-10 frame come out of? (Extended cab, Std. Cab, long wheel base.....)

lol I should start using Lubriplate assembly lube for sunscreen :D

It WAS a '95 2wd, reg cab, long box s10 with a 4 banger. Goin hoodless and I dont care if the control arms are exposed. I actually pulled the motor back about a foot, and welded gusseted mounts to the frame right above the lower control arm bushings, also raising the engine by a couple inches for the crank pulley to clear the original engine cradle.

Hopin monday to get back to work on it. Life has gotten in the way and it's stalled out on me. Gonna fab up a core support and do some more checking, maybe even fab up my grille.

update

Fabbed up the core support, a grille out of window arches, and a rough bumper. The grille's not attached right yet, this was just a mockup to see how it all fit together. Gonna brace the bumper with some heavy gauge steel.

I'm debating on replacing the upper control arms with tubes, then I'm gonna mount trailer fenders to the front spindles once I get the front wheels & tires that I want. I also might grab some drop spindles. I hacked a coil out of each front spring which brought it down some, but I'm not entirely satisfied with the ride height. Maybe it'll squat some more once I get the engine and trans in.

Thoughts anyone?

fenders

are you running the front sheet metal(fenders/hood/grille) or going fenderless?

if the laws let you run open wheels, with no front sheet metal, no fenders of any kind.

the tube A-arms are good idea.

Later
