If it has a electronic injection pump it takes a scan tool to set pump timing.

Looks like the whole front of the engine has to come back apart.
I bought a reman unit that was a turn key drop in and go new turbo, injectors, injection pump everything already together
Now it's in and running but they can't get the timing right. Best that they can get with the injection pump all the way turned is 9 degrees off.
We called in a certified gm mechanic and he brought his tools and special scanner and that's where we stand.
I guess now it's a pull the motor apart and fix the timing because it seems like it is one tooth off
I just hope the engine builder stands behind their warranty and it doesn't turn into a fight.

I've changed those pumps, didn't seem too difficult. I can't imagine it's that hard to line up all the marks.
