I think 3d printers are really cool. I want to get one just for some of the small parts i need for some of my projects.

I think you could build a bolt together rat rod with a much smaller 3D printer than they used for that one piece car.

Jay Leno uses one to make parts for his older cars now. He has a 3-D scanner that can scan a part then he can print it out on the cheap in one day! He went to doing that because it saves money & is much quicker! Gotta love it!

So far as I know the 3D printed pieces are just plastic - or can they now do it in tougher materials? Good for prototyping parts or as a plug for casting them in metal I guess....

I heard they are using a composite material now that is stronger than plastic.

Been looking at getting a 3d printer for quite some time. I think it could be pretty sweet for all my RC crap!
