I found this site looking for info on people building rat rods in the Phoenix area. I work in Phoenix (Deer Valley Airport) during the week and TRY to live in Lake Havasu on the weekends. I am an aircraft mechanic/pilot for a living. I have several projects going, a 1937 Plymouth Pickup rat rod, a 1949 F1 Ford, a 1974 Chevrolet Wrecker with a Holmes 440 bed, a 1976 F600 Ford flatbed truck to haul my 1970 Ford Maverick drag car on some day, a 1927 Model T that I am building to recreate a car my dad had when he was 19 in Southern Cal. It had a 59A flathead, Lincoln trans, chopped 4 inches, on an A frame. I also have a 1967 Ford Fairlane 500XL that is going to be restored using money from selling my Maverick. 390Auto Trans, air conditioning, White exterior, blue interior, I am the third owner. I am concentrating on my Plymouth at the moment, 383 powered, 727 trans, kind of a semi eliptical rear suspension, panhard bar, stock front leaf.
The picture of the Yellow Chevrolet tow truck is a friends that we use to haul all of our treasures home with. 12 valve Cummins turned up, it gets the job done.

Nice to have ya on the RRR...

Nice rides...... looks like you've got some nice stuff there...Never flown anything other than Cessna's , 172,182,180 for jumpers and a Beech Bonanza. that I was looking at before I bought my 182....Are you certified on the Lear??? That would be cool...heck, i'd settle for a turbo prop endorsement...LOL....Welcome aboard.....

Thank you for the welcome, I flew Lears for 15 years, 23's and 24's. They are an awesome ride, flew a Citation for a couple of years, not near as exciting. This is the last lear I flew, I had a guy take some pictures of my last flight in it. I have a Cessna 170 now with 180hp and a constant speed prop, big tires for the desert. We play on a lot of short dirt strips here in AZ.

Welcome aboard

Happy you found the best site on the net. The folks here have fun, great talent, skills and are true gearheads. We don't judge and don't want to be judged. Your rides are very cool and I am personally jealous that you get to drive them a LOT. We have a driving season up here. Enjoy us and your rides.

Hello, welcome to RRR........... Oh man the B-model Mack in the back ground is pretty sweet, the pole truck "tow-mobile" that is saaaaaweet:D..

You have me thinking I'm sure the FAA :eek:wouldn't like it but a RAT PLANE would be way cool.

I worked in the tower in Farmington NM for 2.5 years. I was the licensed meteorologist, the tower closed at night and DIA took over the control of traffic but needed the night time weather observer, drove me to drinking and I dont even drink..LOL[S
