Where's the pics of the new ambulance?
dude that is super coolll !!
what if any would be a period correct issue weapon for the crew of my new to me 1965 m43b1 ambulance?
i already have a SA1911A1
and an AK47 but thats for the wrong side
I think The M4 carbine {the early, select fire version of the M16} had replaced the M1 by 1965. The M16 was issued in '68-'69.
The crew definitely would have carried the 1911 45 cal. side arm.
Have you got a plan yet to get it home?
Patience my a$$!
i have done a soup to nuts rebuild of a 63 willys jeep (18 months and a bucket of money)
a complete 1927 chevy hotrod build from the ground up (two years and way too much money)
and i swore the next vehicle i got was gonna be a turn key driver
i dont mind repair/replace upkeep
but i dont want to create any more vehicles
i figure i paid my wrenchin dues
now it turns out
i am gonna have to go get my new toy
2010 mile round trip
because of the size and weight the shipping costs are too much for me ($1900)
after fuel and trailer rental ($650) i will keep the rest of the money for other things.
For me there would be 2 nights in motels too. I used to drive 1000 miles straight, no more. 12 hours a day max, unless I'm almost home
That old chevy don't look like it needs much, couple days tinkering. But if you don't like tinkering, no old car would be the best bet because they all need lovin if you're going to drive them. For me, dragging one home and getting it running is at least half the fun.
i like tinkering
i just dont want to invent an entire car from scratch again
