I'm using a ball joint vw front end on my roadster pickup but I'm only running a 350 pound chevy v6 and it still needed coil over shocks to support the weight. A 600 pound v8 could really spell trouble.
blue that is building the 40's dodge has the same front end i do,he's got a fully dressed tpi engine in it and it sat down pretty low,he added coil overs and it brought it back where it should be,i'll see if we can get before and after pics of it,i dont think i'll have a problem with it with the coil overs installed,how much did you pay for your coilovers,jc whitney has them for like 80.00

I paid around $50.00 for the pair at a vw and dunebuggy shop. I also plan on buying the retrofit AC industries front disc brake kit for under $300.00. No spindle change is needed that way.The quality and design of your frame looks really nice.
