Indy Car Crash

Dan Weldon died this afternoon in the last Indy Car race of the season. Held at the 1 1/2 mile Las Vegas track, there was a 15 car pile up on lap 12. The cars were reaching 220 mph.

Dan's car rode up over a competitor's rear tire and got airborne. He hit the catch fence cockpit first and had no chance of survival.
