A customer came into the shop yesterday and we got to talking old tin. The guy has been in the junkyard business forever so i was trying to get leads on parts for my rat. Mainly the caddy/olds air cleaner. Then he tells me i can look over his private collection and use what i want. So today after work i go out there. He's got Cadillacs, DeSotos, Plymouths, Lincolns all from the 40s,50s, and 60s. (Now that i think of it, i should see if that desoto has a hemi.) Anyway, he told me yesterday he wants to sell his '46 Cadillac. I get there today to look at it and its a friggin hearse. I honestly didnt see that coming. This car freaks me out, but the only rot on the whole car is the steps. The rest of the car is solid as hell! Not a single dent, all the trim is there, and the interior is cherry. I figure this could be worth something to the right person with a V8 swap and some suspension mods. It could make a cool panel wagon conversion.
Has anybody ever seen a rodded hearse? Any suggestions? Sorry about not having pics, it gets dark here at 4:45 here.
