What would be the widest tire a person could run on a stock 17" model a wheel. Think these rims are only 3 1/2" wide. Suggestions?

What dmw56 said...original Model A wheels will be 21"...if you're running any kind of modern power, you may want to re-consider using flimsy, 80 year old wire wheels...

I checked that out before, obviously you would need bias ply tires, and according to tire companys a 6.50 X 17 would be max, also I see lots of 7.50 on
those wheels. Depends how fast you want to corner and keep the tires on your rims I guess.

Thanks for the info. May be a case of form over riding function. Just love the looks of the old wires. Definetly wouldn't be doing any hard cornering. LoL
