Reverse a VW box?

Went on a binge today and built the entire steering system in my coupe using a VW van box, even used the drag link and part of the column. I was real happy with it until I tried it and realized it needs to be reversed. Flame away for my ignorance. Can this thing be reversed or do I need to start over?

Is this the steering box from the early VW buses? If so, that was a popular swap in the 70's or so. Can you just install your arm pointing the opposite direction, that would change the way it steers?

Don, heres the pics. The box is from a 63 bus. I dont have room to flip the arm.
