i have a transmission that i thank came from a 1988 f150 with a 302 can anyone tell me if this is a good transmission or not. The numbers on it are

277243 can anyone give me more details?

thanks sam. Is that a good transmission or is it a turd . You dont seam to hear much out of 5 speed fords that aint a t-5

Full syncro 5 speed full size truck transmission. Guessing it should handle a light weight rat OK. Only thing is the gear ratios might not be spaced right for a racer - and that usually depends on the motor and vehicle. Ford doesn't usually go chintzy on their trucks.
