The newer 30x40 garage was built by German Baptists that showed up at 7 AM and handed me the key to the front door at 2:45 PM.
I was amazed what seven guys could do working in unison. I told them so and one of them said" These little buildings go very quickly. We spend as much as three days on a big one"

Myself and two good friends built my first one and it took us daylight to dusk
for eight days and it`s square but there are tricks to getting the steel to line up at the end of 40' and keeping it level along the way. Not to mention keeping the screws in a straight line.

day two.these guys are full throtle all day.

That's impressive. Reminds me of where I grew up, the amish would have a barn foundation ready, drive by in the morning and they'd be just showing up. Drive by on my way home from work 12 hours later, and they'd be just about finished, but there was 50-60 guys running around working which helps.

Harley RIder, you have a great car palace there. Nice work by those young guys.

Joe, I worked for Gillette, corporate offices in Boston (but I was in Minesota) and was told that western Mass. was a barren wasteland. Looks like those city boys were very wrong. You have some beautiful rolling stock there.

I like how is KS you can just stuff the posts in the ground and then pour a floor around them. Up here in the cold NE you have to do a 4' frost wall all the way around in the ground and then set to building on top of it. Mostly it is code but also if you dont the frost will heave your building up 6"-8" and break it. Nice looking shop though. plenty-O-space![dr

I've got a three car garage 28x36. It works but is always full. Got a 12 x34 area on the side of it, that I do my welding cutting and grinding.Works ok But bigger is always better!
