I am no expert, I am mostly self taught. What size or thickness of steel do you want to weld? How long will you weld at a time? The welder's duty cycle will determine this. What voltage are you using? I would buy the absolute best you can afford now.

Thanks guys. He kind of rallied back and went home yesterday and is doing much better. His last chemo treatment is this coming Wednesday and my siblings are all visiting soon. My chronic back issues flared up big time so I am hurting from the drive but well worth it
