    just a thought

Lead wheel weights will not work at all. The Dr. is correct! I do quite a bit of leadwork and getting good body solder is key. Stay away from the lead free stuff, I personally do not like it although I have used it. Lead body solder is much easier to work with, you don't heat it as much...

    Jesse James coming back ???

They are all scripted. Most of the drama is just a story, Paul Sr and Jr are eating thanksgiving dinner together and laughing themsleves to the bank. How do I know, because my dad owns a film production company that produces for the sportsman channel and pursuits. He scripts his "reality"...

I am with you mike. The wife and I are working on buying property and building a small house large shop combo on it, for cash. After that I figure I could survive on $10 per hour if need be. I read an article about two years ago in a manufacturing magazine that claimed that we make less than...

Filled up the wife's car this morning

I got to pondering this a little more this weekend and thought to myself; if fuel has gone up 300% since 04 then it stands to reason groceries and everything else has had to go up that much at least. So I dug out an old journal from around that time where I kept my budget and noticed that I had...

    Dynaflow/torque tube conversion

Anything can be done if you have the green to make it happen. The bigger question is why do you want to convert to an open drive line? I assume you want to run a more modern tranny, in which case why not run a modern rearend, or even a vintage rearend that came with an open driveline.

Filled up the wife's car this morning

Took the wife's car to work this morning so that I could fill it up for her. While the pump was pumping I stood and watched as the price grew at an alarming rate compared to the fuel pumped. Started thinking back to when we purchased that car, December 2004. I remember filling that car up for...

opinions on more 32 fords on the road than were built by henry

I am thankful to Egge machine for reproducing the pistons in my engine, rings, main bearings, cam bearings, etc. Without these reproduction parts I would not have been able to build my engine. Not only that the reproduction parts were better than the originals. I am also thankful for Coker...

    Should I buy a 1930 Buick - opinions?

Why ask the wife? Just do what I did last Friday and show up at home with a new boat. When the wife asked what I was doing with it I told her that we were going for a boat ride in the morning. She said I better not have bought that thing. Next morning went out for the boat ride with the...

Need help with electric fan wiring

I use a fan relay that I bought from Autocrap for about 30 bucks. It is the universal one with the temp probe. I eliminated the temp probe and wired a toggle into the wires for the temp probe, now I can turn it on and off at will. I could also put the temp probe back on if desired and the...

miles to a quart of oil...

Since I only have about 5 miles on my motor I can't give you any real world info. However, the original manual for the motor states. Fill with 6 quarts of good oil. Engine will use one quart every 500 miles. Add 3 quarts at 1500 miles. I was paraphrasing but you get the idea. It was...

How good on gas is your rat rod????

Who cares about gas mileage in a hot rod! If you want good gas mileage buy a Prius. If you want a cool ride build a hot rod. During my cam break in I went through a gallon in 20 minutes. After spending the money it takes to build one I should think that 30 0r 40 bucks a fill up is pretty...

    gas tank

I am running a compressor tank. My filler is a piece of pipe with a pipe cap. My vent is a brass valve screwed into the relief valve opening. I took a piece of rectangular tube and cut it into a wedge. I then drilled 4 large holes in the bottom of the tank, er side I guess since it is now...
