    Finally started the roadster build

After splitting the bones I needed to get the spring perch parallel with the axle. Instead of heating and bending the perches, I elected to piecut and reweld the bones. It worked out. Fabbed up the bone mounts. Bought 2 of those little shock mount buttons from Speedway, $2.99 each and...

    Finally started the roadster build

Well, it's been over a year. Here's somewhat of an update. Man....it sure is slow going! Fabbed the 2 bun panels using a Chevy van hood, Howell's patch panels and washing machine sheet metal. Moved onto building the frame for the time being. Realized I needed some sort of frame...

    Rusty Relics Not for Sale!!!

Nothing but a hoarder! It's like the multi-millionares that collect exotic cars just to collect them. They never drive 'em, they just sit in their climate controlled warehouses and the owner can boast 'look what I've got!' This guy is just at the other end of the spectrum! I used to be a...

    Home made tools

Posted this awhile back. Portable bandsaw converted into a stationary bandsaw. It's also easily removeable so it can be used as a portable again, at any time. It really does work well. I cut all the 2"x3" steel for my frame and all bracketry too. Portable to stationary bandsaw conversion

To buy or not to buy that is the question

Great score! I love the lines on that car and for $500 it's a rip roarin' deal! Kudo's to sirGarold for posting it here and following through to help you set up the purchase. Good job! [cl

    1958 VW bus

Free basin' didn't catch on until the late '70's. The drug of choice back in the '60's was heroin...........that's what I've been told, anyway.;) That spoon was probably used to cook up a shots of smack. I would probably disinfect my hands thoroughly after touching it!

    coilover shocks $$$

$9 each at Pick-n-Pull. They were so cheap I bought 2 pair, sold the other pair and got my total investment back. Rear coilovers off a '79 Jag XJ6. It comes with 4.

How long is your 'T' roadster wheelbase?

Thanks Don! That looks just a little stubby for me. I'm thinkin' 110"-112". Hey, I'm gettin' it narrowed down! 26Troadster, a side pic would be awesome!

How long is your 'T' roadster wheelbase?

Thanks Don! Ya know, I love this ride! Just wondering if you've got any straight on side shots of your roadster. Now that I know your wheelbase, that would really give me an idea of how it'd look! BTW, I'm way ahead of ya. Just too lazy to set it all up right now! Also, I think I'm gonna...

How long is your 'T' roadster wheelbase?

Tryin' to figure out my wheelbase specs. '27 roadster, in the weeds, suicide frontend and a track nose. Fat 15's on the rear and 14's up front. I'm figuring somewhere between 105" and 115", but where? I don't want it to look like Garlit's Swamp Rat but I don't want it lookin' like a go kart...

    Frame questions

If you're referring to mine, it is beveled. It's only 1/8" steel so it may not look like it but if you look closely, you'll see that it is. Thanks!

    Frame questions

Young'un, there's some very sound advice in this thread........take it! I just started my frame build and I've already made a couple of mistakes! The first one is I'm using 2"x3" .120 wall rec tubing. Probably should have gone with 3/16" but too late now! It's a T roadster frame with a...

What under frame junkyard M/C pedal assembly for my roadster?

Thanks for the input! I didn't see any dual floor pedal assemblies in the speedway catalog. I was thinking maybe Volkswagen or I could scrounge some early Ford truck pedals at a swap.

What under frame junkyard M/C pedal assembly for my roadster?

Trying to decide what under floor master/pedal assembly to run in my T roadster. Turbocharged 2.3 liter 4 cyl backed by a T5. I'll be running a hydraulic slave to the clutch. I'd like to stay away from aftermarket if at all possible. My stores of choice are the local Pick-N-Pull and swap...

    Homemade portable bandsaw conversion

Found a cheap way to make a stationary bandsaw for cutting plates for brackets and such. Items required are a stick of 1" square tubing and a $2 garage sale 3-1/2" vise. $2 vise. Fabbed up a base. Made a support bar. Mounted the vise. Built the table structure. Table top...

    Hot Wheels

Don't mean to burst your bubble but, there aren't any Hot Wheels in those pictures. Looks like they're all Racing Champions. Actual Hot Wheels cars are much more sought after than the lesser brand cars. The prices on HW's reached their peak around the turn of the millenium. I collected from...

    My Fox Mustang project.

Don, that's a very clean LX! With some power under the hood they're a blast to drive! Don't know if you've seen mine or not. It's an '89 'vert. With the price of gas here in California (special blends make us even more expensive than he rest of the country), I don't even consider a V8...

What is the best parts cleaner cleaning agent?

I just dumped 10 gals of Purple Power into my cheap HF parts washer. It seems to cut grease really well. Only time will tell if it eats all the paint off or destroys the pump!
